Around the Fuchskaute
Adjacent to our house is the 40-acre nature reserve Fuchskaute. By centuries of grazing created here junipers and bristle grass Magerasen as otherwise typical of the Alps. Typical plants in this area are rather inconspicuous finial and the magnificent arnica and Teufelsbiß. These in turn are food for caterpillars and rare butterflies. Discover the rare fauna and flora of our region at around 250 km of hiking trails in the High Westerwald. Here is a small selection.

Westerwaldsteig
The Westerwaldsteig belongs to the top-hiking paths in Germany. In the heart of nature, hike on a total length of 235 km from Herborn in the East up to bad Hönningen am Rhein and overcome this approximately 450 M of altitude. Aim the step 2 and starting point of the stage 3 is the highest point of the Westerwald - the Fuchskaute. Return after an eventful walk and finish the day in a comfortable atmosphere. Rothaarsteig
Enjoy the way of the senses - 154 km nature, experience culture and actively recover. From Brilon in the Sauerland is up to the northern foothills of the westerwald range over the crest of the Rothaargebirge. The Fuchskaute out you will have an excellent starting point for your walk along the southern loop of red hair converted. Spend exciting days on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.
